Today: Rowan’s German Heritage
Thursday, March 12 at 11 a.m. — The Primetimers of First United Church of Christ, 207 W. Horah St., is hosting a lecture on “Rowan’s German Heritage” in the fellowship hall. Dr. Gary Freeze, retired professor of history at Catawba College,  will focus his lecture on the German religious and cultural history of Rowan County, from the Reformed perspective. Dr. Freeze is the author of three books The Catawbans, based on the history and genealogy of Catawba County.

 

Friday: Rhythm & Run
KANNAPOLIS — The 9th annual run is Friday. Rhythm & Run is a fundraiser for the NC Music Hall of Fame & Museum. All proceeds go to the non-profit NCMHOF.
The event is a run or walk for all ages to enjoy. The course starts and finishes downtown Kannapolis in front of the Old Armor Brewery. Bring your whole family out for a Friday night of live music, food, and a run through the city. Live music by This Way Out and JJ Lange’s Beatz and Eatz food truck will be on site.

Kids “Half Note” Fun Run: 6 p.m. $10. Fun Run will not be timed. 1/2 mile run for 12 & under

Rhythm & Run 5K 2020: 6:30 p.m. Registration $25 through March 12. Race Day $30.

Darrell Connor and The Country Music Legends Band

will be playing for a dance at the Cabarrus County Senior Center, 331 Corbin Ave Concord, Saturday, March 14 • 7-10 pm.

 

The Back Creek Bluegrass Boys in concert 

Sunday, March 15 • 6 p.m.: Unity Presbyterian Church, 885 Woodleaf Barber Road. Open to the public; refreshments will be served.
