Kannapolis Police are looking for an alleged sex offender, Pedro Canstuj-Maldonado.
On Feb. 19, a 15-year-old female victim told Kannapolis Police that she had been sexually assaulted over a period of time beginning when she was 13 and continuing for more than a year.
Police said the suspect, Canstuj-Maldonado, 32, was an acquaintance of the victim.
Warrants for his arrest were obtained for the following offenses: Statutory rape of a 13-year-old by a male more than 6 years older and statutory sexual offense of a 13-year-old by a male more than 6 years older.
Police believe Canstuj-Maldonado is attempting to flee the country.
He was last known to be driving a 1995 black four-door Nissan Altima bearing N.C. registration NSV-9831.
