Arts Council OKs 2nd round of Arts- in-Education grantsAt the Rowan Arts Council monthly meeting Feb. 19, board members approved offering a second round of Arts-In-Education grants for school year 2009-10 and decided to include summer programs through the end of August 2010.
The grants will be for a maximum of $3,000 each. Non-profit 501(c)3 organizations are eligible to apply. Grants are for art programs for school children in grades K-12. Details and applications will be available on the Rowan Arts Council Web site (www.rowanarts.org).
The board voted unanimously to name the grants the Mona Lisa Wallace Arts-In-Education Grants in honor of Wallace’s work on the “Light up the Night for the Arts” fundraiser making these grants possible. The application deadline will be June 30, 2009.
