Faithful friends events

A silent auction to benefit Faithful Friends Animal Sanctuary will be held from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. March 7 at the F&M Trolley Barn in Salisbury.
Complimentary hamburgers, hot dogs, soft drinks, beer and wine will be served. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Big Bad Ben.
More than 200 items have been donated for the silent auction, including a backyard barbecue for 20 by Outback Steakhouse Restaurant, pet portraits, a professional photography package, handmade quilts, original artwork, Carolina Panthers’ tickets, Catawba College football and Kannapolis Intimidator tickets, meals at local restaurants, professional pet sitting, autographed ACC basketballs, family memberships to the North Carolina Zoo and more.
Tickets are a $20 minimum donation and are available at the following local businesses: Antiquarius, A Step in Time, Farmhouse Restaurant, Pleasant Papers and the Stitchin’ Post.
Faithful Friends is also conducting a pet food drive for the Rowan County Humane Society and Rowan Helping Ministries to give to pet owners in need. Everyone who attends is asked to bring a can or bag of pet food.

On Thursday, Faithful Friends will celebrate its second anniversary at a general meeting at 7 p.m. in the Stanback Room of Rowan Public LIbrary.
Architect Jon Palmer will present plans for the sanctuary to be constructed on Grace Church Road, and board of directors member Neal Wilkinson will discuss the “green” aspects of the building. Everyone is welcome.
