Education: RCCC schedules software classes

The Office of Corporate and Professional Development at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is offering basic and intermediate courses in Microsoft PowerPoint and Access 2003 and 2007, the latest versions of these popular software programs.
These classes are aimed at adults who need to enhance their computer software skills for career development. The schedule includes day and evening sessions.
The course schedule includes:
– MS PowerPoint 2003 Basic ó 8 a.m. to noon, March 4 and 11, at RCCC’s Cabarrus Business & Technology Center; $50 course fee plus $25 textbook and materials.
– MS PowerPoint 2007 Basic ó 6 to 10 p.m., March 3 and 10, at RCCC’s South Campus; $50 course fee plus $25 textbook and materials.
– MS PowerPoint 2003 Intermediate ó 8 a.m. to noon, March 18 and 25, Cabarrus Business & Technology Center; $50 course fee plus $25 textbook and materials.
– MS PowerPoint 2007 Intermediate ó 6 to 10 p.m., March 17 and 24, RCCC’s South Campus; $50 course fee plus $25 textbook and materials.
– MS Access 2003 Basic ó 8 a.m. to noon or 1 to 5 p.m., March 4 and 11, Cabarrus Business & Technology Center; $50 course fee plus $25 textbook and materials.
– MS Access 2007 Basic ó 6 to 10 p.m., April 21 and 28, RCCC’s South Campus; $50 course fee plus $25 textbook and materials.
– MS Access 2003 Intermediate ó 1 to 5 p.m., March 18 and 25, Cabarrus Business & Technology Center; $50 course fee plus $25 textbook and materials.
– MS Access 2007 Intermediate ó 6 to 10 p.m., April 21 and 28, RCCC’s South Campus; $50 course fee plus $25 textbook and materials.
The classes are open to adult learners. Seating is limited, and advance registration is required. Call 704-216-3598 for more details. Biotech scholarship
Montresca Bowen, a student at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, has received a Biogen Idec scholarship of $1,000 awarded through the N.C. Community Colleges Foundation.
A resident of Kannapolis, Bowen is one of 25 Biogen Idec scholarship recipients who are preparing for careers in biotechnology. Scholarship winners can use the award to cover educational expenses during the 2008-09 academic year.
