This past week, Salisbury lost one of its most gracious and loveliest ladies. Rachel Ross was a true blessing to all those who knew and worked with her.

As past chairman of Rowan Regional Medical Center, former President Jim Freeman and I had the honor and privilege of working with Rachel in her capacity as medical director and chief of our pathology lab. Rachel was, without a doubt, one of the finest, most personable, dedicated and professional members of our medical staff. Thousands of patients have benefited from her medical knowledge and expertise over the years. Rachel, her contagious personality and beautiful smile will surely be missed.
