Letter: Try not talking politics during crisis

A wise old-timer once told me, “If someone is an acquaintance, talk about the weather. If you get to know them better, talk about your hobbies or sports. But only with your closest friends should you talk politics.”

Now, I would like to put forth that this rule is twice as important as ever during a global pandemic. There will be another time to play the political blame game; there always is. And from my experience reading the letters in the Post since I moved to Salisbury, I know there will be plenty of finger pointing both domestic and abroad.

Now is not the time for that. The community needs to work together. Help your neighbors, wash your hands and don’t touch your face.
