Brophy receives Eagle Scout award

Joshua Michael Brophy, 16, of Taylorsville, formerly of Salisbury, received his Eagle Scout Award Nov. 1, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Salisbury.
Scoutmaster Timothy Smith of Troop 401 made the presentation. Brophy has earned 121 merit badges and is junior assistant Scoutmaster.
The son of Greg and Evelyn Brophy, he is a junior at Alexander Central High School. He is an Ordeal member of the Order of the Arrow, won the Henry Fairley Award for Scouting Excellence, the 2006 Scout of the Year Award, the 50-miler Award, Paul Bunyan Woodsman Award, several Venturing awards, a number of Trail Awards and many other awards. He also earned numerous ROTC awards and is executive officer of the NJROTC.
He is a member of the Itibapishe Iti Hollo O A Cook Team and dance team.
