The Salisbury Post is hosting a Taste of Home Cooking School again in April.
The second annual event, to be held at Carson High School on April 27, will offer participants an opportunity to visit vendors’ booths, see cooking demonstrations and take home prizes. The theme is “Spring Sensations.”
The presentation will feature quick-to-prepare fresh dishes and shortcuts to cooking healthy, eye-appealing meals.
The Salisbury Post and Michelle Roberts, a culinary specialist, are planning an evening packed with creative ideas for spring dining and entertaining.
The event begins with local vendor exhibits. The show will include 10 quick and delicious recipes and a good measure of special door prizes awarded to several lucky winners.
Top that off with a gift bag for every attendee.
“We have a program chock-full of fun, food facts and quick-to-fix recipe ideas for you to try at home,” Roberts said. “It’s sure to cure your culinary spring fever.”
Recipes to be demonstrated include:
– Chocolate & Vanilla Crčme Brulee’, a rich, creamy decadent dessert, that combines a smooth custard with a sweet, caramelized sugar crust, prepared in individual dishes.
– Greek Turkey Burgers with Spiced Yogurt Sauce are an alternative to the hot dog-hamburger fare. Best of all, they are an economical entrée that will help reduce your grocery bill.
The Spring Sensations program will feature recipes that are fresh, healthy and flavorful ó all with an eye toward stretching food dollars.
