LANDIS — The Landis Board of Aldermen has moved its monthly meeting to 7 p.m. Monday.

The meeting will be limited to the aldermen, the interim town manager, the finance officer, town attorney and a Salisbury Post reporter to comply with social distancing recommendations. The meeting will be live and recorded for citizens to view on their YouTube channel.

Citizens can submit public comments to be read during the meeting by mail, emailing lbarefoot@townoflandis.com or placing in the town dropbox by 3 p.m. Monday.

There will be no scheduled public hearing and no closed session.

The board will consider a resolution of support for a NC Department of Transportation project to construct a right turn lane on Old Beatty Ford Road at the intersection of U.S. 29. The town will not be required to fund the project.

Other agenda items:

• The aldermen will consider a resolution to approve the town’s Local Water Supply Plan, which will be submitted to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Division of Water Resources.

• The town board will consider a declaration of withdrawal for an unopened part of Hickory Street. The property is located west of South Chapel Street, bounded by a private residence and the town’s pump station.

• They will also consider a resolution to sell a 20 feet wide strip of land a the intersection of Hickory Avenue and South Chapel Street.

• Manager Leonard Barefoot will give a report.
