Rowan County Relay for Life fundraisers are scheduled for the first three Saturdays in February.
On Saturday, Feb. 7, the East Rowan High School HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) Relay For Life team is sponsoring a Relay Day at the J.F. Hurley YMCA in Salisbury from 2 to 5 p.m.
As part of the activities, students will be offering used prom fashions, face painting, cakes, cookies, coffee and cotton candy for donations, with all proceeds going to Relay For Life of Rowan County. Pet photos will also be taken as part of the event.
The Hurley Y is located at 828 Jake Alexander Blvd.
On Saturday, Feb. 14, the Sweet Potato Queens Relay for Life team will host the 7th Annual Ball for Valentine’s Day at the Salisbury Trolley Barn from 7 to 10 p.m. The $25 ticket donation will include refreshments and drawings.
For more information, contact Margaret at 704-279-5427. Tickets are available from team members, at the Relay team meeting on Feb. 3 or at the door. The Trolley Barn is located at 125 E. Liberty St. in downtown Salisbury.
All proceeds will go to the Relay For Life of Rowan County, an annual fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
On Saturday, Feb. 21, the Relay team at Christ United Methodist Church will host a “Pamper Me Day.” A wonderful Valentine’s Day gift for your wife or girlfriend, a $35 ticket entitles the bearer to some or all of the following stress-lifters: manicure, foot soak, paraffin wax on hands and feet, chair massage, brunch/lunch, door prizes and more.
There are two sessions to choose from: 9 a.m.-noon or 1-4 p.m. To purchase tickets, call Ruth at 704-637-1776, 704-213-1161 or e-mail r-b13@msn.com.
The church is located at 3401 Mooresville Road in Salisbury.
