The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office charged Christopher Draton Salters, 36, of 575 Weston Acres, Kannapolis, with two counts of first-degree sexual offense against a child.
Salters was placed under $75,000 bond Tuesday and was scheduled to appear in District Court today.
L.H. Porter of the Sheriff’s Office investigated. Reports said Salters committed the offenses against a girl who was under 13. The incidents happened between March 1 and Aug. 30, 2008.
In another case, the Sheriff’s Office charged John Preston Harrity, 20, of 4635 Goodman Lake Road, Salisbury, with the felony larceny of a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt.
The car was owned by John Martin Harrity and had an $8,000 value.
John Preston Harrity was placed under $2,500 bond. The car was stolen Monday, according to reports.
