As F&M Bank President and Chief Operating Officer Dan R. Williams eases toward retirement, the management team put in place to insure a smooth transition will rely on 131 years of banking experience.
The team includes Steve Fisher, Guy Hoskins, Ellis Cauble, Bob Honeycutt, Nancy Wyrick and Susan Giessler.
Fisher, son of F&M Bank Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Paul Fisher, will become F&M Bank president on Williams’ retirement from that position on Dec. 31, 2009.
Steve Fisher, currently senior executive vice president, also serves as the bank’s general counsel, providing legal advice to the F&M Bank board, the chief executive officer and senior officers.
His responsibilities include retail banking, bank expansion, new market development plans, economic and community development activities and other strategic initiatives.
He is a graduate of East Rowan High School, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Wake Forest University Law School.
Fisher has been with F&M Bank since Nov. 30, 1997, holding various executive positions. He has 12 years of experience in banking and seven separate years in the legal field.
Hoskins serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer. He has 13 years experience in banking and an additional 10 years in accounting.
F&M hired Hoskins Nov. 25, 1996.
He is responsible for all financial accounting and reporting, as well as budgeting and financial forecasting for the holding company, bank and all subsidiaries. He manages the bank’s investment portfolio and wholesale funding and oversees the risk-based audit program.
Hoskins came to F&M from the accounting firm of KPMG Peat Marwick. He is a certified public accountant and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky.
Cauble is executive vice president and senior operations officer, working out of F&M’s Information Technology Center in Granite Quarry. A 36-year veteran in banking ó all with F&M ó Cauble oversees deposit operations, telecommunications and information technology, 24-hour voice response, Internet online banking, wire transfers, Internal Revenue Service reporting ACH processing, statements, mail and purchasing.
Cauble earned his bachelor’s degree from Lenoir-Rhyne College.
Honeycutt, who grew up in Spencer, is executive vice president and chief credit officer. He has 20 years of experience in banking and was hired by F&M Bank July 12, 1999.
Honeycutt oversees the bank’s credit portfolio and all related credit risk activities. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Wyrick serves as senior vice president and senior retail banking officer and is responsible for 11 bank branches and roughly 80 employees. F&M Bank hired her in 2005 from Bank of America, where she had worked for 18 years, focusing on consumer banking and customer service.
Wyrick earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Catawba College.
Giessler serves as senior vice president and human resources officer for F&M. She joined F&M Bank in 1980 after her graduation from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and moved to human resources in 1984.
She is responsible for development, implementation, maintenance and administration of all personnel management programs, including employment, policies and procedures, training and development, performance appraisal, salary administration, benefits, employment enrichment/relations and affirmative action.
Giessler is a lifelong resident of eastern Rowan County and a 1976 graduate of East Rowan High.
