The Salisbury Police Department is looking for a man suspected of robbing two convenience stores Monday.
Around 1 a.m., officers responded to a call at Country Cupboard, 2210 Statesville Blvd.
According to a police report, the suspect came into the store and tried to buy beer but didn’t have enough money. So he went back outside, returned with more cash and left.
About 10 minutes, later he returned again to rob the store.
He told the clerk, “Give me what you got in the register so I don’t have to do anything,” the report said.
He left with about $70.
The suspect headed toward Statesville Boulevard in a red 1980s or 1990s Jeep Cherokee.
The suspect is a black male, in his late 40s, with a slim build and a bald head.
He was wearing a blue sweatshirt with a logo across the chest, black jogging pants with one leg rolled up and a white bandanna around his neck.
He did not display a weapon. The clerk was not harmed.
At 3:45 p.m. a man matching a similar description robbed Rushco No. 4 at 1901 W. Innes St.
A black male wearing a white hooded shirt walked into the store and, after going down the food aisle, went to the front counter.
He told the clerk to give him money. He walked out of the store and toward Catawba College.
The clerk never saw a weapon.
Police are looking for a black male, 6 feet tall, with a slender build and a bald head. He was wearing a plain white hooded shirt with black jogging pants and white tennis shoes. He left the store with about $46.
