The Historic Gold Hill and Mines Foundation, Inc. will hold its annual membership meeting Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Russell-Rufty Memorial Shelter at Gold Hill Mines Historic Park. A short business meeting will be followed by two video presentations: “Gold Hill Memories of the Past” and “Duex Confronte.”
“Memories of the Past” is a pictorial history of the once-famous gold mining boom town and events leading up to the restoration of Gold Hill Mines Historic Park. The 30-minute video was produced by Ervin McCulloch and narrated by Carolyn Hammill. “Duex Confronte” follows the life of a young frontier family trying to survive in a rough and rowdy mining camp. The independent short film was written by Whitney Hill and produced by 5.90 Productions.
A social hour with refreshments will be held in The Veteran’s Room following the meeting. The event is free and open to the public. Membership dues may be paid on arrival, although membership is not required to attend. Membership information will be available to those interested.
