Authorities are looking for a man they believe robbed three General Nutrition Centers in three surrounding counties.
A man pretending to be a customer robbed the stores in Rowan, Davidson and Cabarrus counties within a few days of each other.
Salisbury Police said a black man wearing sunglasses, an olive green jacket and dark blue jeans walked into GNC at 243 Faith Road on Sunday.
He appeared to be interested in buying some products. When the clerk came from behind the counter to give him a price, the suspect pulled out a handgun. The suspect took cash from the register.
The suspect made the clerk go to the bathroom, remove his clothes and wait 10 minutes.
He is described as being in his mid-30s, 190 pounds to 200 pounds and 5 feet 10 inches.
Lexington Police say a man fitting a similar description also made a sales clerk remove her clothing. This incident occurred on the same day. On Friday, a Concord-area GNC was also robbed.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Salisbury-Rowan Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245 or the Salisbury Police at 704-638-5333.
