City bus, Jeep in accident

Eastbound traffic on West Innes Street was diverted for an hour Tuesday after a Salisbury Transit bus and a Jeep collided at the intersection of South Ellis Street about 4:30 p.m., according to Officer Rita Rule of the Salisbury Police Department. The driver of the Jeep, Bilivia Sandoval, and one of six passengers on the bus, Barbara Maxwell, were injured and taken to Rowan Regional Medical Center by ambulance. Sandoval was admitted to the medical center, where she was in good condition Tuesday night, and Maxwell was treated and released, according to a hospital spokesperson. Rule said no charges have been filed in the accident, which is still under investigation.
