High school football: Kraft named interim head coach by Falcons

MOUNT ULLA — Louis Kraft V was announced as interim head coach of West Rowan’s football team on Friday.
He replaced Joe Nixon, who recently was hired by Mooresville. Nixon led the program for five seasons.
Kraft is a 2012 graduate of West Rowan. He was a tight end for West’s football team during the state-championship days and also competed in basketball and baseball. His father, Louis (Skip) Kraft IV, was a long-time coach at West, including a tenure as head baseball coach.
Kraft was an offensive graduate assistant with the Charlotte 49ers before returning to West Rowan. He’s been the running backs coach the past two seasons.
