Gareth LaDon Overcash Sr. and Odessa Diggs Overcash of Salisbury celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 19, 2014, by renewing their wedding vows with Rev. Randy Foster at F&M Bank, where the Zesto once stood.
The couple were married April 19, 1964, at Rowan Mills Methodist Church in Salisbury by the Rev. Stanley Gibson. Gareth retired from the City of Salisbury after 25 years of service. Odessa is a housewife.
Their children are Tabitha Smith (Bryon Harding) of Salisbury; Melissa Broadway (Frank) of Lexington, Gareth Overcash Jr. of Salisbury, Stephen Overcash Sr. (Ashley) of Gold Hill and Susan Church (Nathan) of Lexington.
They also have 14 grandchildren: Brittany, Savannah and Thomas Jr. Smith; Madison, Marcus and Mason Broadway; Gareth III, Haven and Landry Overcash; Stephen Jr., Haley and Katelyn Overcash; Shelby Norton; and Taylor Church.
