Shame on Salisbury City Council for not voting to remove the historical marker on Ellis Street, at Innes Street, recognizing segregationist Gov. John Ellis’s leadership in helping North Carolina to secede from the Union.

The least City Council could have done was to change the name of Ellis Street.
