A man was flown to a hospital after reportedly falling 20 feet from a ladder at an eastern Rowan County home Monday afternoon.
Emergency responders were called to 135 Shortsail Road in the Anchor Downs subdivision around 1:30 p.m.
The man, in his early 70s, was washing windows at the home when he fell, a neighbor said. He received injuries to his head. His name has not been confirmed, but the home belongs to retired rheumatologist Dr. Gordon Senter.
The man was taken by ambulance to Millers Ferry Fire Department on Long Ferry Road where a helicopter met emergency personnel at the fire department’s landing zone.
Paramedics with Rowan County EMS worked to stabilize the man before he was placed onto a Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center helicopter. Officials at the Winston-Salem hospital said Monday evening that Senter was not listed as a patient there.
Firefighters with East Spencer Fire Department also responded.
No other details were available Monday.
