LANDIS — The Landis Board of Aldermen on Tuesday approved two budget amendments regarding electric and waste collections and picked a CPA firm to conduct its audit of the 2019-20 fiscal year.

Interim Town Manager Leonard Barefoot told the board during a called meeting on Tuesday that revenues and expenditures for electric and waste collections were budgeted for an extra month, making each “a wash,” he said.

The amendments amounted to a transfer of $300,000 to the town’s electric fund and $60,000 to the general fund.

Also at the meeting, the board approved a proposal from Ann R. Craven, CPA, PLLC, to perform the town’s independent audit for the 2019-20 fiscal year, which ended on Tuesday. The total cost of the audit will amount to $13,000 for 2020, $13,300 for 2021 and $13,600 in 2022 if the board decides to use the firm for future audits.

The Landis board of aldermen will meet for its regular monthly meeting on July 13 at 7 p.m.

Other items at the meeting:

• The board of aldermen approved a resolution that certifies the town of Landis has adopted a flexible benefit plan for town employees with a different organization. The town has had a plan for a number of years, but Tuesday’s vote was to formally transition the plan to United Health Care, which is also the town employees’ medical insurance provider.
• The board also met in closed session. No further actions were taken regarding any conversation during the closed session.
