Butterball 5K is Thanksgiving morning
Published 12:00 am Sunday, November 24, 2013
The Butterball 5K Run/Walk starts at 8:30 a.m. Thanksgiving at the Forum, 2318 S. Main St.
Runners can get the day off to a fast start while the turkey is cooking. The 3.1-mile course starts and ends at the Forum.
“We look forward to our biggest race yet, and it is for such a good cause. Prevent Child Abuse Rowan and the Terry Hess Advocacy Center are such wonderful organizations that help children and non-offending family members through really rough and emotional times, especially during the holiday season,” race director Rayna Gardner said.
Awards will be presented in six age groups for men and women, with gas cards worth $250, $200 and $100 to overall winners. Every participant gets a high tech dri-fit commemorative long sleeve shirt.
Sponsors include Novant Health, Wilco-Hess, Blast It All, Chamberlain Exterminators, Salcoa, Caniche, First Bank, Summit Development, Shulenberger Survey Co., town of Landis, GNC, Eller Properties, Fowler Physical Therapy, Jeter Chiropractic, Europa Sports and Merle Norman Cosmetics. Course protection will be provided by the Salisbury Police Department.
Registration is available at the Forum and online at www.sportoften.com and www.theforumfitness.com.
