CONCORD – Dr. Ken Bain, award-winning author of “What the Best College Teachers Do,” and “What the Best College Students Do,” will speak to parents on the topic of encouraging young people to learn for understanding on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m., in Taylor Hall on Cannon School’s campus.
Bain is a professor of history and former vice president for academic affairs at the University of the District of Columbia. He is the founding director of four teaching and learning centers: the Center for Teaching Excellence at New York University, the Searle Center for Teaching Excellence at Northwestern University, the Center for Teaching at Vanderbilt University and the Research Academy for University Learning at Montclair University. Bain’s books are widely adopted by universities around the world and are among the top selling books on college education.
