A Salisbury man remains in the hospital after he was struck by a pickup a week ago on Jake Alexander Boulevard.
Witnesses told police Bobby Rhodes, 50, walked out in front of a Chevrolet truck and was hit on Oct. 23 at 6:49 a.m. It happened at West Jake Alexander Boulevard between Lincolnton Road and Brenner Avenue.
He was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where he remains. Hospital officials say Rhodes is in fair condition. Police Capt. Shelia Lingle said investigators believe alcohol was a factor.
The driver, Kham Thepphasone, 53, of Charlotte, was not charged.
