SALISBURY — Listeners of WSAT Memories 1280 have been hearing different voices on the Salisbury AM radio station this week.
Buddy Poole, owner of WSAT, is recovering from quadruple bypass surgery performed Tuesday at CMC NorthEast in Concord.
Son Lance Poole reports that the surgery was successful and his father is expected to make a full recovery.
“All the way up to the last minute before they took him back, he was reading emails and comments online wishing him a speedy and healthy recovery,” Lance said. “It really touched him. He loves this county!”
Buddy Poole is expected to be off the air several weeks “but can’t wait to get back on,” Lance said.
Meanwhile, Caron Myers will be handling WSAT’s morning show and Lance Poole will handle Catawba football.
Buddy made headlines recently by making a marriage proposal during the Boston Red Sox-New York Yankees game in New York back in the spring. The giant center-field scoreboard posed this question: “Diane Harrington, will you marry me? Love, Buddy.”
They were married last month.
