NAACP to honor longtime member Eunice Monroe

SPENCER — The Salisbury-Rowan Branch of the NAACP will have a regular meeting Thursday at 6 p.m. at Dorsett Chapel United Church, 1280 Hollywood Drive.
The meeting is open to the public. The organization will discuss youth gun violence, voter strategy and other community issues. Leaders will also honor longtime member Eunice Monroe, who died Sept. 24.
Monroe was a life member of the NAACP and treasurer for 12 years. She was also active in many other civic and community organizations, including as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a member of Soldiers Memorial AME Zion Church where she also served on numerous church boards and auxiliaries.
