Regional transportation planning forum coming Oct. 15
Published 12:00 am Thursday, October 3, 2013
Are you involved in the freight or logistics industry and want to know what highway projects are planned throughout the region? Would you like to learn how to participate in the transportation planning process for the greater Charlotte bi-state region?
The four Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) in the greater Charlotte bi-state region are hosting a freight forum to present the status of transportation plans for addressing long-range transportation needs in the region. The results will be used to help guide area leaders as they work to complete their individual long-range transportation plans. The area plans will be completed in early 2014.
The freight forum is scheduled for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 15 at Cornelius Town Hall, 21445 Catawba Avenue, Cornelius. This event will include a general overview of the MPOs and their transportation planning processes, as well as specific information about candidate projects, projected revenues, and fiscally constrained project lists within each of the MPO areas.
