GREENSBORO — Salisbury’s murders’ row of opponents continued Friday with a date at Southeast Guilford.
The Hornets failed to score for the second-straight game but found bright spots in a 44-0 loss.
Shakir Turner ran for five touchdowns for Southeast and Antonio Moore broke free for a 59-yard score. Southeast ran for 212 yards and scored 22 points in each half.
“We knew about a lot of them but just couldn’t stop them,” Salisbury coach Ryan Crowder said. “They were big up front and real physical. They had one of the bigger lines we’ve seen.”
Salisbury stopped the Falcons on fourth-and-one at the five-yard line on the first drive of the game. Salisbury went three-and-out on the ensuing possession and had to punt from its own end zone. SEG only had to go 26 yards and Turner scored from three yards out.
“There was a lot of bright spots that we had,” Crowder said. “Our defense bowed their backs up on their first drive.”
SEG, now 6-0, had 55 yards passing. Salisbury fell to 0-6 with Central Carolina Conference play starting next week.
Erik Murray had a fumble recovery for Salisbury. Quarterback Riley Myers had a 56-yard run for the Hornets’ longest play from scrimmage.
