SALISBURY — A new promotional video for the upcoming “Sleepy Hollow” TV series features Ichabod Crane and a quick look at Salisbury’s Bell Tower Park.
Twentieth Century Fox shot much of the pilot in Salisbury in March, including scenes at the Bell Tower, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and other downtown sites. The studio is filming the series, which premieres at 9 p.m. Sept. 16 on Fox, in Wilmington.
The original four-minute trailer for the show is longer than the new video, which runs about 30 seconds. The longer trailer offers more glimpses of Salisbury, but the shorter video focuses on hero Ichabod Crane, played by British actor Tom Mison.
Unlike the shy schoolteacher in Washington Irving’s short story that inspired the TV series, 20th Century Fox’s Ichabod Crane appears to be a fearless superhero ready to work with a modern-day sheriff to eliminate the Headless Horseman.
The arch-enemies are resurrected 250 years after the Revolutionary War in St. Luke’s front lawn, which movie crews transformed into a graveyard.
