Five incumbents file for Rowan elections Friday

Incumbents filed for offices in Rockwell, Salisbury and Landis on Friday.
Chuck Bowman and Charles Wingerson threw their hats back into the ring for re-election to the Rockwell Board of Aldermen. They join fellow incumbent Timothy Justin Crews in the race.
Rockwell Mayor Beau Taylor also filed for re-election. He will face challenger and current alderman Tim Draper.
Maggie Blackwell of Salisbury also filed to run again for a Salisbury City Council seat.
Blackwell, the mayor pro tem, is the third Salisbury resident to file, along with Mayor Paul Woodson Jr. and William C. Peoples Jr.
D. Craig Sloop of Landis also filed for re-election in the Board of Aldermen race. Sloop joins fellow incumbent aldermen Dennis Brown and challenger Dorland Abernathy.
The filing period will remain open until July 19 at noon. Rowan County has 42 municipal seats up for grabs.
