Members of the four graduating classes of Dunbar High School, dubbed “The Fabulous 4,” recently relived their senior prom at the Salisbury Civic Center with the theme “The Motown Generation.”
“The classes of 1966 through 1969 were afforded the opportunity to see and fraternize with old school friends and acquaintances,” co-organizer Carol Lewis said.
Co-organizer Patricia Long Campbell said the prom was indicative of the love, unity and pride that the group feels for the school and each other.
“Dunbar produced a lot of talented young adults who now, as senior citizens, reflect on the strong, caring and motivated faculty and staff that helped to make our accomplishments possible,” she said.
Robert Hemphill, valedictorian of the class of 1968, was most impressed by the royal court picked during the senior prom.
“Watching the selected kings and queens from each class promenade so gracefully to the stage was, for me, the most touching aspect of the event,” he said.
Eulester Williams of the class of 1966 said the prom was “truly the most wonderful and memorable event of the decade.”
