The Humane Society of Rowan County is in need of dry cat food and cat litter for its emergency assistance program. Those who wish to donate items may bring them to the dog wash fundraiser on Saturday, July 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the back entrance to the Salisbury Mall.
The HSRC receives multiple calls daily from people who are not able to keep all the offspring from their cats and dogs and from people who have found abandoned cat and dog families or had them left by renters who vacated the property. The organization is not able to accept all of these animals but tries to help find homes and provides food and spay/neuter information to animal caregivers who need assistance.
The Humane Society of Rowan County is a non-profit volunteer organization not supported by taxes or other government funding.
