CONCORD (AP) — The former administrator in the Cabarrus County town of Harrisburg has pleaded guilty to taking more than $40,000.
The Charlotte Observer reported (http://bit.ly/18Daby6 ) that Michele Reapsmith has pleaded guilty to three felony counts of obtaining property by false pretense.
Warrants from the State Bureau of Investigation accuse Reapsmith of taking by money by using the town’s payroll system between 2009 and 2011.
She is to be sentenced in September in Concord.
Reapsmith agrees to pay $38,000 in restitution to the town under the plea agreement.
The maximum sentence is 30 months in prison on each charge but Harrisburg town attorney Rich Koch says she probably will not be sentenced to prison.
The agreement calls for her to be under supervised probation for up to five years.
