Ivory Taylor May and John Whitfield Welch were united in marriage June 29, 2013, at Omwake-Dearborn Chapel on the campus of Catawba College in Salisbury. The Rev. Dr. Stan Welch officiated the 6 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception in the old Cabarrus Bank building.
The bride was escorted by her father and attended by Brittney Barnhardt as maid of honor. Serving as bridesmaids were Katie Welch, Katie Wise, Katherine Van Wieren, Kim Povaleri, Krista Haywood, Whitney Haywood and Molly Garrett. Caroline Welch was junior bridesmaid.
Josh Welch stood as best man. Groomsmen included Jamey Welch, Reagan May, Gabe Welch, Jimmy May, Chandler Shirley, Kyle Ballew and Anthony Watts.
Lola C Lynch was flower girl, and ring bearer was Will Welch. Jenny Hancock, Kylee Hancock and Amanda Watts were guest registrars, and Ashley Fox and Abi Watts were program attendants.
The bride is the daughter of Steve and Melody May of China Grove and the granddaughter of R.C. and Dotty Stafford of Kannapolis and the late Ted and Josephine May.
