Charity bridge game set for Friday

We will be having a Charity Fund Game on Friday.
Points won will be higher than a normal game.
Competition was keen at the Evergreen game Friday, June 28. Gary and Jane Shive and Charlie and Marnie Buchta, players from Concord, joined us, allowing us to play a Mitchell movement.
Winners were: N/S first, Marie Pugh and Ruth Bowles; second, Joe O’Brien and Genny Mozolak; third, Carol Bachl and Pat Macon; E/W first, Gloria Bryant and Betsy Bare; second, Myrnie and John McLaughlin; third, Wade Lowder and Marvin Query.
This week’s board is No. 25 from Friday’s game. The Mozolak/O’Brien pair played 3N+1 North for the best N/S score, while the Lowder/Query and Shive pairs set their opponent’s 4HN contract 1 trick for the best E/W score. In this hand N/S was unsuccessful in 4H but were able to make 1 NT and 4C. E/W tried 3S failing
