WILMINGTON (AP) — Television shows and films produced in the state spent more than $250 million in North Carolina this year.
Projections from the governor’s office said more than 60 films, television shows or commercials were filmed in 30 of the state’s 100 counties. The statement said those productions provided about 25,000 job opportunities, including roles for actors and crew.
Television productions including “Sleepy Hollow,” “Under the Dome” and “Eastbound and Down” were all filmed in Wilmington this year. The television crime drama “Homeland” was produced in Charlotte. The pilot for “Sleepy Hollow” was filmed in Salisbury before production moved to Wilmington.
