SALISBURY — Rusher Oil Co., a BP branded petroleum marketer in Salisbury/Rowan and the Piedmont, presented a BP Fueling Communities grant for $5,000 to the Community Care Clinic of Rowan County.
The mission of the Community Care Clinic is to provide primary medical, dental and prescription assistance to qualified underserved and uninsured adults in Rowan County. This grant will be used to fund the purchase of diabetic medications, lancets, meters and testing strips for 565 patients who are currently enrolled for services.
The BP grant program seeks to help local organizations that support health, education, youth, food and housing.

“We are honored and appreciate Rusher Oil Company for this gift of health for so many of our patients who desperately need it,” said Krista Woolly, executive director of the Community Care Clinic. “It is because of individual donors and local businesses like Rusher Oil Company that the Clinic stands strong and firm in our mission.”
Publix, the Lakeland, Fla.-based grocery chain, has announced plans for a 49,000-square-foot location in the Willow Oaks Crossing shopping center, at George W. Liles Parkway and Weddington Road, according to reports.
It will be Publix’s 14th location planned for the Charlotte market by the end of 2015.
