Former Rowan County Commissioner Tom Webb dies

SALISBURY — Former Rowan County Commissioner Tom Webb died Saturday.
A funeral director at Summersett Funeral Home, which is overseeing arrangements, confirmed his death.
Webb grew up in Kannapolis, and ran for office in Rowan County several times starting in 1980.
The former gun shop owner won election to the Board of Commissioners in 1990, and was voted vice chairman of the board in December 1992.
He was re-elected in a runoff in May 1994.
Webb served for a total of six years before resigning in November 1996.
He was also a former master of Fulton Lodge 99 A.F. & A.M.
