CHINA GROVE — Rescue crews reported a fatality after a motorcycle crashed Wednesday evening on Patterson Street.

Ethan Mastro, 20, was dead on the scene when emergency personnel arrived. According to Chief Andrew Deal of the China Grove Police Department, the investigation is focused on the cause since only the motorcycle was involved. For now, speed seems to be a leading factor.

According to scanner communications, the driver was reported deceased just after 6 p.m. as law enforcement officers closed the road at the intersection with Kimball Road near South Rowan High School.
