Citizens are advised to stay off the roadways. If travel is necessary, please proceed with extreme caution as icy conditions are present in most areas at this time.

All non-essential Salisbury city operations have closed. This includes City Hall, City Office Building and all recreation centers. All essential operations will continue, which includes public safety operations, police and fire, as well as public service operations as they attend to roadways. City transit service will operate through 4:45 p.m. and will terminate service two hours early.

The Salisbury Police Department is advising, per deteriorating weather conditions, that citizens should travel, only if necessary.

Additional weather related information affecting city operations may be issued through the Public Information Office.

The Rowan-Salisbury School System will close 4 1/2 hours early today; the closure time has been moved up a half hour.

The SAT exams scheduled for Saturday at Carson High School, North Rowan High School and Salisbury High School are cancelled and rescheduled for Feb. 16. All afternoon and evening activities today are cancelled, according to system spokesperson Rita Foil.

Gray Stone Day School is closing at 11:30 a.m.

Catawba College will be closing at 11 a.m. today. Saturday classes are scheduled to start at 8 a.m. The administration will decide later today whether to delay or cancel those.

Livingstone College is closing at noon.

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College cancelled classes at 10 a.m. today. Staff will continue working until noon. Administration will make a decision about Saturday classes today after 3 p.m.

Kannapolis Schools are closing three hours early. Cannon School is closed.

Grace Academy Elementary and Middle in Rockwell is closing at 11 a.m. No after school care.

St. John’s CDC is closing at 11:30 a.m.

Happy Days CDC in Landis is closing at 11:30 a.m.

Noah’s Ark Day Care closing at 11:30.

Noah’s Playloft on Link Avenue closing at 10:30 a.m.; no second shift.

North Hills Christian School closed at 10 a.m.

Salisbury Academy is closing at 11.

Cabarrus County Schools are closing early.
