?SALISBURY — A habitual felon was sentenced to at least six years in prison after his latest conviction in Rowan County court Tuesday.
Lorenzo Nicholson received the habitual designation after he was convicted in Rowan County Superior Court of felony breaking and entering, felony possession of stolen goods and felony obtaining property by false pretense.
Nicholson was sentenced to a minimum of 77 months to nearly 9 years.
The 54-year-old pleaded guilty to the charges and admitted to his status as a habitual felon in court Tuesday, according to a press release issued by the Rowan County District Attorney’s Office.
Authorities arrested Nicholson on March 11, 2012, after a Salisbury resident contacted police about a break-in.
Salisbury Police charged Nicholson after an investigation found the 54-year-old sold the resident’s stolen weed trimmer and leaf blower. The leaf blower was later sold to an area pawn shop.
Nicholson was previously convicted of felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering and felony possession of a schedule II?narcotic.
