Lottery players win $22 million in one week

RALEIGH (AP) — The past week was quite lucrative for players in the N.C. Education Lottery.
A statement from the lottery says that since Feb. 21, players of lottery games won more than $22 million in prizes with more than $17.6 million awarded to winners of instant scratch-off games. Players of North Carolina draw games Pick 3, Pick 4 and Cash 5 won more than $4.1 million in total prizes.
In last Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing, 10,246 tickets won prizes ranging from $2 to $600, totaling $73,779. The Powerball drawing on Wednesday, Feb. 27, produced 17,192 winning tickets from $4 to $200 for a total of $123,464.
