The Salisbury Police Department has announced the promotions of two officers.
John Lanier, a 23-year veteran of the department, has been promoted to lieutenant.
Lanier has spent most of his career in the Patrol Division, serving both as an officer and then as a patrol supervisor, a news release said. Upon his earlier promotion to the rank of sergeant, he was charged with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department’s Narcotics and Gang Unit.
