Oliver “OD” Snyder and Mary Beck Snyder of Salisbury are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary Feb. 20, 2013. They were married Feb. 20, 1943, in Rock Hill, S.C., by the Rev. A.B. Hawks. OD retired from Southern Railroad after 37 years, and Mary retired from Normans of Salisbury.
The couple has three children: Arthur “Art” L. Snyder (wife Cheryl) of Spotsylvania, Va.; Dean L. Snyder (wife Genie) of Boiling Springs; and Steven “Steve” Roy Snyder (wife Linda) of Morganton.
Their seven grandchildren are: Arthur “Artie” K. Snyder (wife Sherri), Goldvein, Va.; Brian L. Snyder (wife Tiffani), Mineral, Va.; Bradley L. Snyder (wife Stephani), Spotsylvania, Va.; William D. Snyder, Rock Hill, S.C.; Deana Snyder Lee (Michael), York, S.C.; and Andrew N. Snyder and Amy Lynn Snyder of Morganton.
They also have five great-grandchildren: Anna Snyder, Evan Snyder, Tyler Snyder, Nathan Snyder and James Lee.
The couple is celebrating at their home today with their family.
