A son, Briggs Nicholas, was born to Nicholas and Tyler Miller-Bost of Salisbury on January 24, 2013, at Lexington Medical Center. He weighed 9 pounds, 3 ounces. Grandparents are Matthew and Lois Miller of Wilkesboro and David and Terri Bost of Rockwell. Great-grandparents are Erma Badger and Maxine Miller, both of Jefferson, and Ms. Donnie Willis of Burlington.

A daughter, Mkenzi Jade Crandall, was born to Lauren Fesperman and Steven Crandall Jr. of Salisbury on February 3, 2013, at Wake Forest Medical Center-Lexington. She weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces. Grandparents are Gary and Melody Eagle of Woodleaf, David Fesperman and Steve and Tammy Crandall, all of Salisbury. Great-grandparents are Allen and Jonnie Mabe of Woodleaf, Rube and Rosalee Fesperman and Harry Garwood, all of Salisbury, Bob and Anne Sanderson of Winter Garden, Fla. and Robert and Wendy Crandall of Ormond Beach Fla.
