Salisbury Police charged two men with possession of marijuana and steroids after getting complaints about the smell of marijuana coming from their Salisbury apartment.
The police went to an apartment in the 100 block of Henry Laurens Circle on Monday morning. At the door, the officer noted the smell of marijuana emanating from the apartment, a report said.
A man later identified as Tyler Butanis, 20, let the officer inside and consented to a search of the apartment. Butanis rents the apartment, but also inside was Matthew Wesley Miller, 19, of Woodleaf Road.
The officer found several marijuana smoking pipes in the bathroom and kitchen. The officer also found digital scales, rolling papers and 18 small vials of steroids. Butanis admitted to smoking marijuana and was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, the report said.
Miller was charged with simple possession of steroids. He has a misdemeanor larceny charge from Cabarrus County authorities. Miller remains in the Rowan County jail under a $500 secured bond.
