Authorities are looking for a man who they say had more than 100 grams of marijuana at an apartment where officials served a search warrant.
The Salisbury Police Department’s narcotics unit and the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office forced entry Friday morning into a Lakewood Apartment where they say Otha Derik Archie, 30, of the 600 block of Lakewood Drive, Salisbury, lived.
Archie was not at the apartment said Capt. Shelia Lingle, but officers seized 147.7 grams of marijuana, three handguns, $2,000 in cash and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia that included digital scales and plastic bags. The marijuana was found inside Mason jars.
Warrants have been issued for Archie’s arrest. He will be charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, maintaining a dwelling place for the sale of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with the intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance.
Archie was convicted in 2002 of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury where he served nearly three years in prison. Archie is expected in a Rowan County court next week for simple possession of marijuana and probation violation. He is scheduled to be in a Davidson County courtroom in June for felony marijuana possession, possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and no operator’s license. The Davidson County charges stem from a 2012 offense.
