ALBEMARLE (AP) — State and local law enforcement are looking into the death of a man whose body was found duct-taped to a chair in the basement of his home.
Deputies were sent to the home of Jason Whitney Burleson, 27, and when they arrived they found Burleson dead.
The official cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy. Burleson’s body was found Sunday night.
Both the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office and the State Bureau of Investigation are investigating Burleson’s death.
One woman described the crime as frightening because there’s never been any such incident in the town of Albemarle, which is about 30 miles south of Salisbury.
