SALISBURY — The victim in a Sunday shooting in Salisbury has been identified.

On Monday, the Salisbury Police Department confirmed that Robert Phillippe, 46, reportedly checked himself into Novant Health Rowan Medical Center on Sunday following the shooting that took place in the 1110 block of Edgedale Drive. He is expected to survive.

Officers that arrived on scene, in response to a reported shooting were unable to locate anyone who had been injured.

It was only later when Phillippe attempted to check himself into the emergency room that authorities were notified.

Phillippe was transported to another medical center with injuries described by police as “non-life-threatening.”

The incident remains under investigation.
